Force, Commission or Panel - In
2001, the South Carolina Colleagues in Caring (SCCIC) Project Coordinating Council,
recommended the following to address the current and evolving nursing shortage:
- Maintaining
a permanent state-supported structure for nursing workforce planning and development
- Developing
and implement a statewide plan for recruiting and retaining students in nursing
education programs

Maximizing enrollments in SC nursing education programs to meet the demand for
nurses in the state
- Developing
programs that will facilitate workforce transition and retention.

Other - The
South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is a partner in
